Yesterday apple rejected my app for not displaying ATT request. My understanding is that if we don't display, by default it would be disabled hence no idfa usage.

It went well with the previous two releases. Has anyone else faced this issue? Is it mandatory to display the request? Why can't a developer opt not to track by default?

Potentially is related to how you filled out the privacy questionnaire? Did you say you collect user data at all ?

Well if you answer yes to those then Apple will assume you are attempting to track users hence enforce usage of the att dialog. It's pretty easy to add:

apm install com.distriqt.IDFA

(or manually add the IDFA ANE https://docs.airnativeextensions.com/docs/idfa/add-the-extension)

Then just call the request authorisation

ma Are you saying that if in the app, by default app tracking is disabled, I dont have to mention any data tracking?

I already have your IDFA implemented in the app, its just that I dont request authorisation..

Ah, no, the opposite, if you have said you are collecting data in the survey you need to ensure you are requesting authorisation.

As to the opposite approach you'll have to ask someone closer to the Apple guidelines. I'm not really certain on the details.

Hi,

That is saying to remove the NSUserTrackingUsageDescription key from your info additions and you "may also choose" to remove the IDFA ANE (which links the AppTrackingTransparency framework).

ma so let me get this clear..
If I don't want to track a user, i don't have to mention any thing in the app store, even if I am using 3rd party like onesignal, admob, google analytics etc & collecting necessary game/app related data.

I think it's probably best to confirm that with Apple, I'd only be guessing.
