I am using AnimateCC 2021 on MacOS X and attempting to publish my .app using AIR 32 with the aim of it becoming a non-Mac-Store-App after signing and notarising with Apple.
If I use AnimateCC self-signing certificate during publishing the .app is published without errors.
If I use my Apple Developer ID certificate (.p12) during publishing I get the error ‘'Could not sign the AIR file. Unable to build a valid certificate chain for the signer'. I’ve spent many hours reading forums and trying various suggestions but to no avail.
I have just read this forum, very informative I must say, thus joined up.
Is is permissible to publish my .app with the AnimateCC self-signing certificate (because it the works) THEN sign my AnimateCC self-signed published .app with my Apple Developer ID certificate and then notarise it.
Would this get it past ‘Gatekeeper’ during installation and then run successfully or would the Adobe self-signed certificate cause problems with my .app running on a Mac?
I’m not an experienced programmer and I’m having difficulty understanding the current issues. Any help, suggestions, pointers very much appreciated.
Regards,
Alex.
