Folks paid for the use and an ongoing support fee(s)
Customers only pay for "1 year of free email support and updates" according to the website, you're not guaranteed continual ongoing support with that one-time payment. I'm still using their plugins as well after purchasing them years ago, and disappointed that they stopped updating or replying, but any time you're using something third-party there's always the risk that Apple or Google will change some requirements and the plugin you paid for won't be updated any longer. I agree with 2dguy though that they shouldn't still be selling the ANEs if there's no intention of supporting them any longer!
Like others have said, in this case your best bet is to switch to a different ANE provider who is still actively updating and supporting their products (or build an ANE yourself if you're inclined to do so).
