I must say, from what I‘ve seen and read - the comments from Harman you have posted here and what has been posted in this and other forums - I‘m having a really good feeling about this. What has been most difficult and disappointing for me as an AIR developer lately has been the lack of vision (or even interest) from Adobe. It was often really hard to get through to them - probably because of a big cut in financial backing.
Now, I‘ve got the feeling the guys from Harman are really interested to find out which areas the community thinks need to be looked at. As was said before, we probably don‘t need revolutionary changes anytime soon - the platform is stable and capable. But we need to have a commitment for future updates an compatibility, and there are a few areas where some small, focussed changes would make a real difference.
Just seeing this new attitude towards AIR gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling that everything‘s gonna be alright. It was definitely a good choice from Adobe to hand over the responsibility to Harman. The deal apparently took a long time to get finished, but good things take time, as we all know. 😄
