Hi, I am working on a level design which:
1. use tileable textures to fill big shapes and ...
2. ... the outlines of the shapes are arbitrary.
Here is a graphical example of what i mean:
My problem is: At the moment I draw the shapes in a graphic program and use the whole image as a big texture to show the ground e.g. But they consume too much memory i think. So I'm looking for a solution inside starling to load only the tileable textures and fill out a polygon-shape with a repeated texture. But the important thing is: The form of the shape is arbitrary and a classic tiled-map-editor like tiled doesn't seem applicable.
I'm not sure, but is the Starling-Extension-Graphics Library the right tool to do the job?
Or is there another and/or better way to create such textured-polygon-shapes?
Thx for your tips!
