Hey guys! I've got a rather simple problem, but I can't seem to figure out what's the best approach to it.
So, I'm making this side scrolling platformer game, when I create the map, I only check for collitions on those tiles that are in the game area (when the player moves -actually the map moves, I delete tiles at the back and create new ones in the front). So far so go.
The thing is, when I add some enemies (hero + five enemies) the general performance of the game drops down, from 60 to 53 fps or so. how do you handle collition detection?. Old games like mario bross had multiple enemies on the screen at one time, and it was never laggy.
Thanks. If something isn't clear, please let me know!.
