I've been experimenting with a mixed Starling app that had an away3d layer.
So far it looks promising, except one annoying issue:
I use asset manager to load and access my images. This works well on Starling but for away3d the texture classes are different - so I am forced to handle them separately. As a side note, most of my images are packed into sprite sheets.
Besides being inefficient, I have lots of use-cases where an image need to be used both on the Staling layer and the 3D layer. Since the bitmap is loaded anyway is there any way to share it (or the texture) between Away3D and Starling?
Had anyone tried that with Away3D?
What is the recommended way to handle this?
