I'm sorry for the nth post related to fonts... I've been faced them for two days reading lot of posts... all seemed ok but...
step 1 - Bitmap Fonts!
Oh yeah, all is ok but... but I won't use the native size of the font because I'm developing a crossplatform (iOS+Android) app and I can't know in advance which will be the font size at runtime. So I imported just one fnt file with 210 (!!!) sized font. But it appears pixelated when scaled. If I import it with a minor original size (ex. 80) the text is a bit better but nothing special... I tried EVERY GlyphDesigner option and EVERY smoothing option but nothing...
So... step 2: embedded TTF!
On the simulator all is ok but on the device a system font is used to replace the TTF... I read about some problems with TTF and ASC 2/Flash Builder 4.7 (that I'm using) but tehorically I should have compiling errors.
So what could I do?
I don't want to:
- import more times the font with different size (very inefficient and in every case I've to scale it down so the pixelated effect appears)
- generate the textures with different starting size at runtime (very inefficient and in every case I should create up to 10 textures)
I'm considering to create a single image for every text in my app (7 languages)
