I've never actually built any games using citrus engine, I got used to build everything from ground up myself, but recently I've noticed one citrus engine example which uses Away3D. I was kind of impressed to see how easy it is now to build a 3D platformer on flash not even using anything like Unity3d. But I have a couple of questions which I can't seem too google answers for:
1) Is there any ready-to-use level designer / architect for Citrus + Away3D or do I have to build it my self?
2) If no, where can I find a description for the level data format? Does that use XML or JSON to describe level objects or what?

Hey, thanks for your interest in the CE
1) Unfortunately no.
2) You may create your own, then a parser for that won't be too hard.
Note that all the 3D part in the Citrus Engine is really experimental. I wouldn't use it for a commercial project unless I'd big 3D knowledge.
For 3D, I tend to use Unity. If you don't want to use it have a look on Away3D or Flare3D (which sounds awesome http://flare3d.com/ )
Aymeric, thanks for the reply, and for your great work on Citrus engine
Well, I was also intending just to experiment with it for now, so I think I'll give it a try
if you end up with a cool suggestion for level data format for CE I'm all ears !
We've planned on unifying to a single format for a while , and create a .swf to .json or .xml parser for cases when levels are created in .fla for example. for 3D that would also be cool. It can also allow people to create their own home made editor for their specific type of game!
