Hey guys! I'm sure this has been brought up in the past, but I wanted to touch on it a bit.
Does anybody know if Adobe has any plans at all of bringing AIR to consoles? In a few months, I'd like to start development on a new game. I've been developing as3 games for about 7 years now, and I'd really like to make a game that takes full advantage of playing with a controller and also local multiplayer. I know these things can be done via AIR for desktop, but I feel home TV consoles are one of the main places that local multiplayer controller-only games are played. With Flash largely going away in the web design area and Adobe putting more of an emphasis on games and AIR, it seems consoles would make sense.
So does anyone know of Adobe having any word on consoles? As some of you may have seen, the new Nintendo Switch trailer has been revealed, I think it'd be really cool to be able to target consoles with AIR.
And if not, does anyone know of what's involved in porting an AIR game to console? I've read things about Castle Crashers being largely AS3, and a few other games. But all in all, I don't know much about doing that and it sounds like a massive pain to do.
