Finding out if a List/GroupedList overflows?

Hello all,

I'm trying to figure out how to determine the number of items that are not rendered in a List. i.e. if my list only displays N of M items at any time, how can I retrieve the number of remaining items?

This is for displaying a status label, i.e. "Displaying N of M results. Scroll down to see more".

There's no API that will tell you how many items are visible.

getVisibleIndicesAtScrollPosition() on a virtual layout is the closest thing. However, it may return extra items that are just outside the view port, so it may not be perfectly accurate.
