Feathers 1.0: Out Of Beta!

Hot on the heels of Starling Framework 1.3, I give you Feathers 1.0. From this point forward, Starling and Feathers stable builds will be in sync. It's a milestone that I know many have been waiting for.

Thank you, everyone in the community, for your great feedback and support. Thank you, Daniel, for the wonderful Starling Framework. Thank you, Adobe, for helping make it possible for me to spend so much time improving Feathers.

From this point forward, the master branch on the Feathers Github repository will be focused on developing the next version of Feathers. If you want a stable feathers.swc, get it from the Feathers website. If you want to try the latest and greatest unstable features, use the source code from Github.

Josh, congratulations on the release!!! That's perfect, it will be very easy for people now to use Starling and Feathers in sync. Sorry that the 1.3 release took so long, I know you wanted to make that step a little sooner! 😉

@fukhaos The Components Explorer in the feathers-examples Github project has a split layout for tablets now. I think Layout Explorer does too.

@TobiHeidi AnchorLayout still needs some work before I start showing examples. I'm already using it in the Components Explorer to show the main menu as a sidebar for tablets, though.

Really nice job Josh!
Totally digging the framework. I have to admit, being a Flex developer it took me a couple of days to feel comfortable with it, but once you get a hang of it, development is a blast.
Nice to have a mobile AS framework that just works (well, from the small things AIR messes up ofc).

Fantastic! Glad to see Feathers is going in the right direction. I abandoned it due to a lot of cumbersome and strange design choices (for example: as3-signals, way too verbose and annoying to maintain and GTween, slow and crappy) but I'm glad to see that all of those annoyances are gone. Plus events for screen transitions! Excellent. I'm looking forward to seeing what Feathers can do for my project and Starling 1.3 in general. Keep up the good work!

I have never found GTween to be slow. I still use it in my other projects. I only removed it because people get annoyed by dependencies. Regardless, it's not like you were forced to use it when you wanted to create your own tweens. I simply chose to use it internally because I prefer the API.

I must say, I'm strangely fascinated by people who have such a strong reaction to GTween.

Can I animate AnchorLayout like a "Teleport" menu from feathers showcase?

Yes, it should be possible to animate the values in AnchorLayoutData.

When I animate the value "left", in right layout change his "width" properities. I would like to change the coordinates x.
