The end of an era.
I stopped using Adobe Flash / Animate quite a number of years ago, mostly once the production team at the company I was working at evolved enough that I ended up focusing on development and a graphic design team handled assets. That team would leverage After Effects instead.
But, I loved Adobe Flash. It's illustration tools were rapid, simple and powerful. Perhaps Adobe have since integrated some of those rapid illustration techniques into Adobe Illustrator, I'm not sure, I moved to an OS that wasn't supported by Adobe.
The thing that saddens me most about this announcement, is that this software is essentially dead in the water now. I wish things like this could be released into the world as open source under the care of some of the original devs (at least initially). Adobe may no longer have a financial stake in it, but what's the harm in releasing the source?
