Just stopped updating, it's not that it can't be used anymore.
It doesn't matter anymore, I am currently using OpenFL and Starling, and using TexturePackerGUI to create textures

after backlash Adobe said they will keep it aka "maintenance" mode.
Animate is now zombie-ware

sadly there is NO single true alternative that match Animate "Flash".

On the other side I also amazed that Animate "Flash" is being used by mid-big companies till date, alot of animators out there. It is being actively use in real production

it seems they can not make generative AI works into the Animate unlike Illustrator.

still, Adobe's decision is really stupid given Animate is still actually being used alot
