I'm using x64 Starling AIR app on Raspberry Pi 5. I also have tried using the latest pi5 ubuntu on pi imager ( 23...something) and also the latest raspberi pi os from the the same pi imager. both work the same if I install and install wine from pi-apps (wine 9.3) Ok, I have made some progress, I'll explain. Regular apps with no Starling seem to install and display and work, but I noticed without gpu acceleration, even built with gpu mode, still kinda laggy. I noticed on Wine website that the latest version is 9.5, and notes it has updates to fix problems with gpu stuff, so I suspect that version would fix the gpu usage under Wine for arm64 and Pi5. So this is certainly not a Starling, rather a Wine issue not being able to use the gpu properly on the pi5. I am not able to update from 9.3 to 9.5 manually either on the pi5, I get 304 errors and other stuff over my head. I dont think Wine 9.3 from pi-apps app has any gpu acceleration, maybe a pi-apps update including wine 9.5 will fix this. I am certain Starling is perfect for a arm64 chip (it rocks on a droid device!) but this is a Wine issue or pi-apps issue, or maybe a me issue😉 Any help or insight would be appreciated, and I will report back if I get it working on my end for anyone else needing this.
