Distance in km between two points from air android app

Hello guys, please help. Is there any possibility to get a land road distance (in km) between 2 given points from my adobe air app running on Android device? I think I should use Google distance matrix API. But I have never needed to use internet service like this directly from my AIR android app (it worked completely offline until now), so I have no idea, how to call this. Can any of you please point me to the right direction? Is it even possible? If so, can I do this directly or do I need anything special? Any ANE for example? Is there any ease sample or tutorial? Thank you.

There are some utilities in our Location extension to calculate the distance between 2 geographic points.

This is not a "road" distance though, it's a calculation based on the geographic projection. If you need navigational distance along roads you are probably going to have to look into an api.
