Hey all,
I'm trying to figure out how to properly set the size of the viewport while taking into account things like the notch and rounded corners on iPhone X, and other similar devices. I've seen several topics from 2018 where people are talking about:
figuring out if the device has a notch by using capabilities.os and DPI (which is simply not practical nowadays with the hundreds of other devices that have notches)
using the com.distriqt.extension.application.Application.service.getStatusBarHeight method from Distriqt Application ANE (which seems to be deprecated)
Begging for Adobe to help: https://tracker.adobe.com/#/view/AIR-4198633 (when has that ever worked?)
I'm thinking, since it's 2021, and a lot of phones have notches now, and Harman is actually releasing new versions frequently, there must be a proper solution for this nowadays, right?
I'm thinking, it must be a simple application.xml fix, like how you set viewport-fit=cover or use safe-area-inset values in CSS. But I couldn't find anything like it in my various searches.
If anyone has any pointers or a working solution, it'd be much appreciated!
