I'd recommend to check out haxe, too. OpenFL makes any flash dev to feel familiarity. Without any flash background, I believe haxeflixel is the easiest framework to get started. You will even find a haxe port of starling! And with same codebase you can target a lot more platforms, even consoles like playstation and switch... Additionally, with haxe you will avoid the ANEs; Trust me with this one, ANEs are pain in the a**.
