Never in my 13+ years working with Flash have I encountered this. In one of my projects I am embedding alot of mp3 files, 46 total. The project did have about 40 before this issue started. What happens is, when I build the project it just hangs, never returns an error, etc. I can stop it no problem, but it never completes the build. However.....I found out through trial and error it hangs on certain file(s). When I find out what those files are, I can convert them again from the original .wav to .mp3 (using the exact same procedure as before) and it will build the project fine! What on earth could be happening here? I thought maybe Class size was an issue, so I divided the embeds up between 2 Classes. But I still had the issue again (after I updated some of the music files). I had to eliminate one by one until I found which mp3 was causing the problem, convert from .wav to .mp3 again and it worked.
Do embedded MP3s need to be a certain bitrate? Is there a maximum size each Class can be? Anyone else have any issues like this? Again, 35-40 files no problem, but when I added more embeds all this #$%^ started happening. Lots of hours lost to this btw. ugh... Thx for any help.
