You should be able to use textures with Quads. In fact there are two ways to do it:

is a subclass of Quad
that you create with a Texture
. This can be a SubTexture
to e.g. map a larger Texture
across multiple Quads
Or just set the texture
of the Quad, and use setTexCoords
to do the mapping across multiple Quads.
These are just two ways of doing the same thing: the outcome in Starling data and so performance should be identical. In particular it can batch quads like this, as long as the texture
of each is from the same base Texture
.
