Is there a way to display an on-screen keyboard which includes a text field for editing? Like in the example below from Clash of Clans.
I don't know if this is a feature of the operating system, or if they added that text field themselves over the system keyboard. I'm trying to avoid using text fields on the native overlay for user text input.
Fields like this are added by the app. There's no OS provided method of getting an input on the keyboard.
You need to make a text input and position it based on the keyboard height.
ma Yes, I thought so too, that the field is added on the native side, above the keyboard. I am willing to pay if you could help with the creation of this ANE. I only need it for iOS (iOS 12 or newer).
Please let me know if you are willing to help with this.
ma I know about the softKeyboardRect property of the Stage, but I have doubts about the reliability of it. This is why I would prefer to have it done in an ANE, with a native text field (a native text field would also have the same light/dark theme of the OS keyboard)
Sure, send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll get something underway.
As a side note we have added more reliable keyboard information to the Application ANE, if you do want to go down that path
