JohnBlackburne Pardon my ignorance, I am trying to migrate from flash IDE. I discovered actionscript about a year ago. i also discovered how much I like to code at the same time. I already have published two games in play store, both pure flash vector games. The first one, I approached it as animator. So it is an educational game for preschool kids based mainly on interactive animations. I rewrote most parts of the code up to three times because I am still learning. I could rewrite it better every time I feel more knowledgeable... Anyway, I managed an average of 24fps on demanding parts of the game and I am happy about it.
But the 2nd game I published, even as simple as it is, has terrible performance. It not interactive animation like the first one, but a bit more action oriented. The main reason that I published it, is because I wanted to get the updates time extension at play store. You know, ignorance brings insecurity... After some research I found out about starling. The only experience I have so far, is the series of tutorials from that nice guy from india with the game 'hungry hero'. I felt amazed about starling when I was following every step from this tutorial. Now I want to port my second game to starling.
Pardon my monologue, I just tried to let you know how ignorant I am, in order to guide with 'baby steps', If you can spare some of your time...
So could youu please be more specific about those few lines of code that I need to render swf into bitmaps at runtime? Or give me a link with example code?
I will figure out how to implement it, if somehow get started...
