At this point the only market I can see for Harman’s AIR is people already using Flash and AIR. It’s not being promoted more widely that I’ve noticed, probably as there would be little point. Next to e.g. Unity, which comes with an editor, with other tools, and targets far more platforms there’s no comparison.
We are now only 12 months from the retirement of Flash. Adobe announced this mid 2017, 30 months ago, but the writing had been on the wall for Flash for much longer, with Adobe seemingly losing interest in it long before the announcement.
It’s given people plenty of time to find alternatives to Flash, if they are still set on making web games. It’s too late as no-one is waiting for Harman. They’ve already made other plans, and are making web games with other tools.
