[SOLVED]Installing ipa file with iTunes or something else?

I'm having an issue installing an .ipa file in iTunes (so that I can get the file on my device for testing). When I drag the app into iTunes or click on it nothing happens. I'm using:

AIR 26.0.0.118
- iTunes 12.70.166
  -iOS 11.0.3.
- Packaged in IntelliJ
- Development certificate and provisioning profile.

This has never happened before but I haven't tested on a device in a while. In the image below my regular phone apps aren't even showing up. Has this happened to anyone else? Anyone know how to fix this? Or is there another way I should be installing the app?

This was an issue that happened with the new iOS 11 I believe. Apparently it is fixed with the latest Air 27 version.

However, I use ifunbox to install IPAs now (it's really quick!)

The latest iTunes have been redesign to only handle music and other entertainment media. Apps and such as handle are handled by other apps.

From my research I believe you can use X-Code to install apps as well.

It's free for installing apps and works great. I stopped using iTunes.

iTunes has dropped option to install app with version 12.7.

If you're on a mac, it's not problem.

This technique also still works with the latest iTunes (without the app store or app managing features), you just have to make sure when you drag the .ipa it is over the device section on the left sidebar (and see that it highlights), as the last screenshot shows here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201593

I like to use Apple Configurator.

I see where I can use XCode to install the app but I'm getting the following message:
"App Installation failed.
Could not write to the device."

I'm using

AIR 27.0.0.132 (updated from Air 26)
iTunes 12.70.166
-iOS 11.0.3.
Development certificate and provisioning profile.

Any trouble shooting ideas?
Would it be easier to install using production credentials through Test Flight?

On Windows using iTunes you must first put your device UDID of tablet or iPhone with a Apple certificate and provision file.

I just test it out after by erasing and copying a new build.

Works like a charm !

Also, your device needs to be unlock from sleep mode.
