Hi, the Citrus Engine has been ported several time in Haxe, without being achieved completely:
- once it was NME.
- then a private version for a version based with PixiJs.
Finally it was more a renderer alternative to Flambe, Hutch. Ideally the Citrus Engine would be added to Hutch.
So yeah, I'm a big fan of Haxe and OpenFl seems to be the good step to access HTML5. Concerning the Citrus Engine, I think than HaxeFlixel is much more powerful they did an awesome work. But the CE is more lightweight.
Today @gsynuh worked hard on the V3.2 version where we try to change the structure. The MVC approach is good for physics game but a game without physics is nowadays made with entity/component system and that's where Ash is coming in the deal. The reflection is still around, since we make lots of Unity games and Pixijs for WebGL. We don't have project, at the moment, fitting for OpenFl.
