skol Hi there! Wanted to know if anyobody is using https://github.com/gabriel/as3httpclient for HTTPS client-to-server communications. I've tried in one of my projects only to realise that AS3Crypto lib does have SHA-512 algorithm supported which was required to process my server's SSL certificate. If SSL works for you, please share your knowledge. If not, please support this bug request https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=4101817
henke37 Uhm, why would you need a special library for this? The Flash runtime already supports http over ssl.
skol Well, I needed a lib for POST/GET requests. I guess I'll switch to https://github.com/HendrixString/Hendrix-HttP-AiR which doesn't have external crypto dependency.
goldboy Hi skol, I'm having issues with testing this on Android. It says my server is unverified, even though I am using a purchased SSL certificate on my live server. Are you still using Hendrix-HttP-AiR to connect to your server for POST/GET requests? Secondly have you added additional decryption for the SSL certificate?
skol @goldboy, hi! I haven't switched to Hendrix HTTP AIR. According to comments secure layer is handled by AIR SDK, not the actual library. Sorry, can't help you with that at the moment.
goldboy @skol, No stress. I managed to figure it out. I had to get my hosting provider to re-install the certificate by making sure it linked all the way back to the top most certificate (which is what my older android testing unit supported in its certificate store).
skol @goldboy, so I assume it works fine with Hendrix HTTP lib? Can you share your experience? Did it work without any modifications? From 1st of Jan 2017 all iOS apps need to communicate through HTTPS connections. So we gotta be ready.
henke37 Just use the normal flash.net.URLLoader class. You can specify anything you like in the URLRequest.
vivid7578 Assuming this post is still active, every time I try to use URLRequest with my server's REST web services, I get 422 server errors. Anyone have any idea why this may happen. The calls work fine when using as3httpclient, but is buggy on Android.
zwetan vivid7578 Anyone have any idea why this may happen it's hard to have any idea not seeing any kind of source code to illustrate what you tried 422 Unprocessable Entity says it all
