Hi guys. I've got tired looking for a solution to control the Tablet Keyboard on Windows 8/10, and lately I do tons of Windows apps...
I need to have at least a basic control over TabTip to open/close and check that status.
You could launch the program in AIR with a pointer to the file and openWithDefaultApplication(), but u will not be able to kill it, not even from a batch file, as it requires elevated permissions, and u can't validate the current state of it as it's almost always open as a service, even when its not displayed.
Long story short, I just made a super simple C# app to control the Tabtip window process.
Here's the exe
ttc 1 >> opens the keyboard
ttc 0 >> close the keyboard (doesn't KILL THE PROCESS, just sends the message to the window controller)
ttc 2 >> outputs "visible=0"/"visible=1"
** The implementation is super rough... so an exception will be thrown if u pass no arguments
Yep, ugly implementation but works.
So next time u build a Windows app for a touchscreen tablet/computer that requires the TabTip, feel free to use it.
