It is likely that your question has already been asked before. To find existing answers:
- Use the search bar at the top right.
- Be sure to click the link at the bottom of the search results: "You may also try your search at Google".

FAQ: Why is my game slower than expected on [a mobile device]?

Most importantly: when testing performance, always be sure to create a RELEASE BUILD. It makes a huge difference. Using "Standard" packaging method (vs. "Fast") is not enough! In Flash Builder, click on "Project - Export Release Build" to compile in release mode.

FAQ: How can I customize my Avatar image in the Forum?

The Starling forum uses Gravatar for its user images. Register your e-mail address there, and the Forum will automatically pick up the avatar image.

FAQ: I'm registered in the Sparrow Forum, and I can login in this forum.
But for some reason, I can't post anything!

That's a bug in the forum software we haven't had time to fix yet. Just send me a private message ("PM this user" on the left), and I will activate you in this forum.

FAQ: I have found a bug! What should I do?

If you have found a bug, first do all you can to make sure it's really a problem of Starling, not an error in your code. Then head over the the GitHub issue tracker and see if the bug has already been reported.

If it has not, first try to create a very simple demo application that has just one aim: to reproduce the error. Then open up a new issue, complete with a description of the error and the sample code, or a link to the zipped FlashBuilder project.

The advantage of the GitHub issue is that I'll see it quickly, while I can easily overlook bug reports in the forum, due to its heavy traffic. Thanks in advance!

FAQ: Where can I download the latest HEAD REVISION of Starling?

Sometimes, you need the absolute bleeding edge head revision of Starling, e.g. because it contains a bug fix or feature that's not in the latest stable version.

You can get that version from Starling's Git repository. The latest version can always be found under the following link: latest-version.zip. Or you visit the page manually and look for the following button:

If you're experienced with Git, there's even a better way. Just clone the latest version like this:
git clone git://github.com/PrimaryFeather/Starling-Framework.git
Then, when you need a new version, just pull the latest changes from the repository. It's that easy!
cd Starling-Framework git pull
Warning: Don't use the swc file from the repository: that's always containing the latest stable release. Compile Starling yourself or add it's "src" directory to your project instead.
