You all probably got very excited today when Daniel announced a preview version of Starling 2.0! I certainly did too. 2016 is going to be a great year for all of us!
I just wanted to let you know that I've recently started work on Feathers 3.0. There's still a ton of work to do, and cool, big changes still on the way. It's very early in Feathers 3.0 development, though, so stay tuned for more announcements on what's coming in Feathers 3.0 as things progress a bit more.
Today, I updated the master branch of Feathers on Github to target the new Starling v2.0 branch. That's right, Feathers 3.0 will be built on Starling 2.0! After cleaning up over 300 compiler errors, I got Feathers and all of the themes and examples to build with the Starling 2.0 preview (and the unit tests pass too!). With this in mind, please be aware that the Feathers master branch is no longer compatible with Starling 1.7. If you need a stable version of Feathers that works with Starling 1.7, please download it from feathersui.com or use the v2.3.0 tag on Github.
The code for Feathers 3.0 is still in development, so be aware that there will be bugs. Getting it to compile and run was my only goal for today. Architecture changes are still on the way. In other words, this obviously isn't ready for production, but you can try it out, if you're brave. A number of classes have been removed, so read through the Feathers 3.0 Migration Guide for my details about what you need to change.
