It's possible. You may need to write some custom shader code to perfect it, but it should be possible with just the stock code.

But how could this be accomplished in Starling? As far as I understood how this "blobby" look is achieved, it's the result of sequentially applying filters to an image. In this case, those two (see this codepen):

Mhm, a clean way to combine filters is unfortunately still missing in Starling.
There's a workaround, though: You can create a container sprite with one filter and a child container with another filter; then both will be combined.
