I'm using a blur filter on an image (with RenderTexture), as a background for some foreground activity:
The problem is the image edges - the filter causes them to become transparent, and you can see what's underneath.
For example, if there's a black quad underneath, the edges will become dark:
Right now, in order to make it look better, I place the blurred image on top of the same image, which isn't blurred. This looks much better:
But I guess that instead of using two images, this can be accomplished by a minor change in the AGAL code in the blur filter - by "adding" the blurred pixel value to the original pixel value.
As someone new to AGAL, it would be great if someone could help with this issue.
Don't know, but could it help with this issue as well?
BlurFilter and RenderTexture and PMA
What happened to Starling's 1.x FastBlurFilter (I was able to use it for creating a very blurred image, with minimum performance hit)?
Is there an equivalent in Starling 2.x?
